Dr. Angel Gezalyan, OD

Dr. Angel Gezalyan is a board-certified, TLG-licensed optometrist dedicated to providing comprehensive, patient-centered eye care. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Biochemistry and Cell Biology from the University of California, San Diego, before receiving her Doctor of Optometry degree from Western University of Health Sciences College of Optometry. Throughout her undergraduate and optometric education, Dr. Gezalyan developed a strong passion for community outreach and accessible eye care. She participated in medical missions to Fiji and Armenia, providing care to underserved populations. As Vice President of Student Volunteer Optometric Services to Humanity (SVOSH), she worked alongside fellow students to expand access to optometric services within underserved communities. Dr. Gezalyan has gained diverse clinical experience through rotations at Veterans Affairs hospitals, low vision clinics, ophthalmology, and primary care practices. Her clinical interests include the diagnosis and management of a wide range of ocular conditions, including glaucoma, macular degeneration, diabetic eye disease, and dry eye disease. She also has experience fitting various types of contact lenses, including single-vision and multifocal lenses.

Dr. Gezalyan believes that exceptional eye care goes beyond maintaining vision. Her goal is to build meaningful, lasting relationships with her patients and their families through compassionate care, open communication, and a personalized approach to each patient’s needs. Outside of the office, Dr. Gezalyan enjoys spending quality time with her fiancé and family; traveling, reading, and exploring different art museums.
